Moderate to heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Kashmir on Monday, prompting the Meteorological Department to warn of more rain and weather-related hazards across the Union Territory over the coming days.
The MeT Department warned that intense showers over Kashmir parts could trigger localized flash floods, mudslides and landslides. It also cautioned about shooting stones and rockfalls along vulnerable stretches in hilly districts, advising people to stay away from nallahs, streams and landslide-prone areas.
Despite the rainfall, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 28.5 degrees Celsius, while the minimum settled at 20.0 degrees Celsius, 1.2 degrees above normal.
