The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Saturday conducted raids at multiple locations across the Kashmir Valley in connection with a militant-related case involving the alleged online glorification of militancy and recruitment of individuals into militant ranks, officials said.
Officials said that the searches were carried out in Baramulla, Shopian, Anantnag, Kupwara, Bandipora and other districts, reported news agency KNO.
They said the raids are linked to FIR No. 03/2023, registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar under Sections 505 and 153-A of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The case pertains to the alleged misuse of online platforms to glorify militancy and influence individuals to join militant organisations, officials said.
The searches were underway when this report was filed, and further details were awaited.
