Lightning strike claims two lives in south Kashmir’s Anantnag

An official said that two persons were killed while two others sustained injuries after lightning struck the Gawran Nard area of Anantnag.

Two persons were killed and two others injured after lightning struck at Gawran Nard in Anantnag district on Thursday, officials said.

An official said that two persons were killed while two others sustained injuries after lightning struck the Gawran Nard area of Anantnag.

The deceased were identified as Faizan Ahmad (18), son of Mohd Yaqoob Chard, a resident of Gawran and Bilal Ahmad Battana (16), son of Nazir Ahmad, a resident of Redwani Gawran. The injured were identified as Sajad Ahmad Battana (15), son of Sai Battana, and Shareef Ahmad Battana, son of Jumma, both residents of Redwani Gawran.

Meanwhile, the injured were shifted to PHC Larnoo for initial medical treatment, while further details are awaited.
