President Donald Trump said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “has to be more responsible” in Lebanon, adding that he was “not happy” with Israel’s invasion and its handling of Hezbollah.

While as, Iran warned that any Israeli attack on Lebanon or continued occupation of its territory from this point forward would constitute a violation of the interim agreement with the United States.

On Tuesday, at least four people were killed in Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh governorate, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported. Drone strikes separately hit two vehicles in Mayfadoun, where the village square was previously targeted.

Since diplomatic efforts began, Iran has insisted that a regional ceasefire, particularly in Lebanon, is an integral part of any final deal.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the “most important issue” in the memorandum is an “immediate and permanent end to the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon,” noting that the conflicts in Lebanon and Iran are interconnected.

Lebanon holds geostrategic importance for Tehran’s regional influence, alongside its longstanding relationship with Hezbollah. Araghchi has maintained from the outset that a ceasefire in Lebanon is a prerequisite for any agreement, stating that the truce would apply regionwide once a deal is announced.

The top Iranian diplomat also warned that any Israeli attack on Lebanon or continued “occupation” would be considered a violation of the understanding, underscoring the high stakes in the current situation.
