US President Donald Trump Friday said that he is not satisfied with the latest Iranian proposal, adding that he is not sure “we’re going to get to a deal” to end the war.

The US president’s comments came as Tehran sent new proposals for talks to end the deadlock via mediator Pakistan.

While as, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iran remains open to diplomacy if Washington alters its “expansionist approach” and “threatening rhetoric”.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has said the country must engage in economic battle to “disappoint and defeat” its enemies.

In a written statement marking Labour Day in Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei said Iran “has proven to the world in a military battle with the enemies its progress and excellence”, but “it must also disappoint and defeat them in the stage of economic and cultural jihad”.

He also urged Iranians to prioritise “the consumption of domestically manufactured goods”, and said “the owners of damaged businesses should avoid, as much as possible, layoffs and separation of their workforce”.
