An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Chanapora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday.
“Encounter has started in Chanapora area of Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job,” official sources said.
Souces said that an anti-terrorist operation has been underway in the area since yesterday (Friday).
The encounter is believed to have started after a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
The number of trapped terrorists was not immediately known.
