Two separate accidents were reported on NH-44 in Ramban district on Saturday morning, with the second involving a QRT vehicle dispatched to rescue passengers injured in the first accident.
Officials said a passenger bus bearing registration number WB 37D / 8989 hit the hillside near Marog, behind Kela Mor, at around 8:50 am, leaving around 10 to 15 passengers injured. The injured were being shifted to District Hospital Ramban.
Meanwhile, a QRT vehicle JK-02CR-1506, dispatched from DPL Ramban reportedly for the rescue operation, overturned near Kela Mor at around 9:15 am.
Eight personnel – three CRPF personnel of 187 Battalion and five J&K Police personnel – were injured in the accident.
The injured were evacuated for treatment, while police, CRPF and civil rescue teams continued operations.
