Srinagar Police have arrested eight people and seized more than 219,000 tablets and capsules while investigating an alleged inter-state narcotics trafficking network, police said.
The arrests were made during an investigation into FIR No. 135/2026 registered at Safakadal police station, with one of the accused apprehended in Bengaluru, police said in a statement.
Police recovered ₹85.75 lakh in cash and froze bank accounts containing ₹1.07 crore, the statement said.
Gold, Rolex watches, luxury goods and other valuables were also seized.
During searches of two bank lockers, police recovered gold and cash valued at approximately ₹2.20 crore, it said.
A pistol, a dagger and two vehicles were also seized, said SSP Srinagar, Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy.
Police said the investigation had traced the alleged supply chain to Chandigarh, Panchkula and Ambala. Two other accused remain absconding, and efforts are underway to arrest them.
The investigation is continuing, with police examining digital evidence, financial transactions and supply-chain links to establish the network’s wider operations and identify others involved, the statement said.
