A suspected Pakistani drone was sighted over a forward village along the International Border in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Tuesday.
The unidentified flying object, which carried a flashing light, was seen crossing from the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir side into Indian territory within the Sunderbani sector during the late hours of Monday night.
Authorities noted that the craft turned back and withdrew after a short period of hovering between Mahadev Gap and Kalal village.
Following the incident, security forces conducted a sweep of the area on Tuesday morning to verify that no illicit materials, such as narcotics or weaponry, had been airdropped.
