The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted searches at multiple residential premises across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday in connection with ongoing investigations, officials said.
NIA teams carried out searches in Sopore and Kulgam, while SIA teams conducted operations at locations in Poonch and Udhampur districts, according to officials.
In Sopore, an NIA team searched the residential house of Gh. Mohd. Tantary, son of late Abdul Ahad Tantary, at Gund Brath under Sopore police station, officials said.
Another search was conducted at the residence of Shabnum, wife of Tawseef Ahmad Dar and daughter of Mohd. Akbar Bhat, in Teliyaan Mohalla, Arampora. She is currently residing in Gousia Abad, according to officials.
The searches in Sopore were carried out in connection with NIA Case FIR No. RC-02/2026/NIA/JMU. The agency also conducted searches at several locations in Kulgam district as part of the investigation.
In Kulgam, NIA personnel searched the residential premises of Kifayat Ahmad Koka, son of late Mubarak Ahmad Koka, in Bugam, officials said. The operation was underway when the initial information was received, and details of any recoveries or other developments were not immediately available.
The NIA teams in Sopore were assisted by personnel from Sopore Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), officials said.
Separately, SIA teams conducted searches in Mandi and Surankote areas of Poonch district and in Ramnagar in Udhampur district. In Mandi, the agency searched residential premises in Cheela Dhangri, officials said.
Authorities have not disclosed the specific allegations or the identities of all individuals linked to the searches. It was also not immediately clear whether the operations had resulted in any arrests or the seizure of material.
