A joint protest was staged by the INDIA bloc at the Parliament complex on Wednesday, with National Conference MP Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan, alongside Sajad Kichloo and Shammi Obera, joining the ranks of opposition legislators.
Spearheaded by Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, the agitating MPs displayed placards while vociferously calling for the immediate reinstatement of complete statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
As part of their appeal, the opposition urged the Union government to uphold its past pledge concerning this issue, with NC representatives underscoring that such a move is vital for protecting the democratic entitlements and constitutional ambitions of the Union Territory’s populace.
Furthermore, the coalition members demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah issue a formal statement in the House regarding the allegations of excessive force against student demonstrators at Jantar Mantar.
The demonstration saw a convergence of prominent opposition figures from various INDIA constituent parties, unfolding amid the persistent national dialogue surrounding Jammu and Kashmir’s political and legal framework.
