A militant was killed during a joint search operation in Ashdar Gali area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday, Army said.
Army said its troops observed suspicious activity during the operation and, upon being challenged, the militants opened fire, triggering an exchange of gunfire.
“Based on specific intelligence input, a Joint Search Operation was launched by #IndianArmy, @JmuKmrPolice and @crpf_srinagar in general area Ashdar Gali, Budgam,” Chinar Corps posted on X.
In the ensuing exchange, one militant was killed, while an AK rifle and other war-like stores were recovered, it said
“Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity and upon being challenged, terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire during which One terrorist neutralised and one AK rifle and other war-like stores recovered,” army said.
The search operation was in progress, according to the Army.
