Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said the issue arising after Pakistan summoned a US diplomat following his meeting with the American envoy was a matter between Pakistan and the United States.
Speaking with reporters in Srinagar, CM Omar, said the matter is between Pakistan and the US and he has nothing to say on that.
Respondig to a question on the Congress’s remarks, Omar said the party was entitled to its political viewpoint and that he did not want to engage in a “war of words” over the issue.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said a modern abattoir project in Srinagar, estimated at a cost of around Rs 31 crore has been revived by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation and was expected to be completed within one-and-a-half years.
He said the facility would facilitate disease testing of sheep and provide halal certification before meat reaches the market.
“Whenever meat is sold in Srinagar, it should carry a market-authorised stamp so that people know it meets quality standards,” Omar said.
