Hours Before Trump’s Deadline, Iran Cuts All Communication With US: Report

New Delhi: Iran has reportedly closed all diplomatic and indirect channels of communication with the United States, according to state-run media, in a major escalation of tensions between the two countries.

Officials said that all forms of message exchanges, including backchannel communications through intermediaries, have been suspended, effectively cutting off dialogue at a critical moment.

The move comes amid rapidly escalating conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, with both sides hardening their positions. Reports indicate that Tehran has grown increasingly distrustful of Washington, citing past failed negotiations and ongoing military pressure as reasons for shutting down communication channels.

Despite the breakdown in direct contact, some reports suggest that limited indirect engagement through mediators had continued until recently, but those avenues now appear to have been halted as well.

The suspension of communication significantly reduces chances of immediate de-escalation, as diplomatic channels are traditionally used to avoid miscalculations during conflict. Analysts warn that the absence of dialogue could increase the risk of further confrontation in the region.

This development comes at a time when ceasefire efforts are faltering and military rhetoric on both sides is intensifying, raising concerns about a wider regional conflict.
