Five arrested with grenades, ammunition in Srinagar

Two hand grenades, two magazines, some rounds of ammunition, posters and six mobile phones were recovered from their possession.

Five persons were arrested with grenades, ammunition and other incriminating material in Srinagar, police said on Tuesday.

The arrests were made by a police party from PP Khanmoh during checking at Nard Sangri in the Khanmoh area

A top Police officer said two hand grenades, two magazines, some rounds of ammunition, posters and six mobile phones were recovered from their possession.

A case under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act has been registered at Panthachowk police station.

Further investigation is underway, police added.
