Indian Army patrol fired two to three warning shots during a routine patrol in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Saturday after suspecting movement amid heavy rain and dense fog, as per reports.
The incident occurred in the Kallar Mohra area of Mendhar, where a Rashtriya Rifles patrol was conducting a routine area domination exercise.
As per reports, soldiers opened fire into the air as a precaution after reduced visibility caused by adverse weather conditions triggered suspicion of movement in the area.
No casualties or injuries were reported, and there was no exchange of fire with any suspected militants, as per initial reports.
Security forces subsequently launched a search operation in the area to verify the suspected movement.
